Portfolio
01
I began writing blogs for Winona State University in 2021. My most recent blog was the top-performing in all of 2023.
02
I have run various social media pages, including Winona State University’s main pages, Tri Sigma chapter, and literary arts magazine, Satori.
03
In the past ten months, I’ve gotten my hands on over 1,000 web pages (and counting). From homepages to tertiary formats, take a look at a few pages below.
Blogs
Perseverance, Support, and a Whole Lot of Heart
This is my most recent blog, telling the moving story of WSU’s Outstanding Nursing Graduate of Fall 2023. This piece is Winona State’s top-performing blog of 2023.
WSU Alum Makes Bigger Impact in Winona Community
This personal profile highlights the impact Winona State’s education has on the local community. It’s also featured as a top story in Winona Daily News.
Satori: Giving Students a Chance to be Published
I wrote a piece promoting Winona State’s Literary Arts journal, Satori. This publication helped triple submission rates from the previous year’s numbers.
Social Media
During my employment as Winona State’s Lead Content Creator, I established their LinkedIn page as an active platform.
Previously, WSU’s LinkedIn was never utilized as a social media page. Based on other university trends, I thought that should change.
This is the first post on our LinkedIn account. To this day, it is still one of our top-performing posts.
In the midst of ‘make Instagram casual again’, I noticed Winona State’s account was not quite hitting the mark.
Therefore, I decided we should try and have our photographers take at least one random photo a week to be posted on our Instagram. No matter the photo, I’d challenge myself to make a caption work.
Our weekly candid shots ended up doing quite well. So well, that the WSU social team still does them to this day.
This is one of my favorite posts of the series. Our photographers grabbed an amazing image, and I loved the chance to make the caption both fun and informational.
I wrote a variety of captions for Winona State’s Facebook, from short and sweet to long and informational.
We primarily used Facebook as a platform for broadcasting information. In this case, I promoted WSU’s involvement in Minnesota State’s Equity 2030 project.
And, some more
Here are a few more posts I’ve made throughout the years.
Web Writing
College of Liberal Arts
I edited and designed pages for four out of the five academic colleges at Winona State. These pages aim to highlight all that the university’s academic programs have to offer, from success rates to personal satisfaction.
Fraternities & Sororities
I created a brand new Fraternities & Sororities page for Winona State University, getting rid of the term “Greek Life” and reframing their narrative to encompass the inclusivity of our organizations.
Campus Arts Season
The purpose of the Campus Arts Season page is to showcase how WSU not only enriches the lives of students through the encouragement of self-expression, but also the community’s exposure and appreciation of the arts.
